< K. Thor Jensen

Needed to take a moment to tell you about one of the more influential people going, with regards to this site. A lot of you out there already know this, but there are some that don't, and anyway this is a tribute of sorts. So give a listen.

When 665 was conceived, it was intended to be a sort of dumping ground for whatever I felt needed to be dumped; interesting shit, pictures, essays, all the stuff you've been seeing. Subconsciously, when I came up with the design, I pretty much copied that of another site - so much so that the original look of 665 was scrapped in favor of this one. More orange, stuff like that. But the format, and in a lot of ways the spirit, of 665 come courtesy of a guy called K. Thor Jensen, and his site can be seen here. Again, format. Are there differences? Sure. But I owe the concept of this site to him.

K. Thor, as you may notice, is a pretty cool guy. He was even kind enough to let my girlfriend interview him for a journalism paper. (The actual meeting was slightly awkward - knowing people online for a while and then meeting them is something I try very hard not to do. It feels weird.) Nevertheless, interview happened. Anyway, for that I am grateful, and for the inspiration I am grateful, and so go to his site and say, "Hey, K. Thor, you kick ass." And wait for him to start updating again.

Anyway, that's all. Too often people swipe ideas and act as though they are their own. I didn't set out to clone his site, but the influence was there, and for that I say thanks.
